About MOIA

For the mobility of tomorrow

MOIA is the young mobility company of the Volkswagen Group. Since its launch in December 2016, MOIA has been pursuing the goal of redefining the mobility of people in urban areas. The focus is on offering on-demand ridepooling. MOIA covers the complete value chain: from algorithms and apps to electric vehicles, fleet management and infrastructure. MOIA sees itself as a partner of cities and of public transport operators. By supplementing public transport and other mobility services, we create incentives for city dwellers to give up their cars. In this way, MOIA helps cities reduce traffic-induced problems like air pollution, congestion, noise and space constraints, and achieve their sustainability goals. MOIA started its ridepooling service in Hanover in summer 2018, followed by Hamburg on April 15, 2019, the first city with over a million inhabitants.
