Fully Autonomous Mobility “Made in Europe” – MOIA Unveils Scalable End-to-End Solution for Autonomous Driving at the UITP Summit

MOIA, in collaboration with key partners, will serve as the local host of this year’s UITP Summit – the leading global congress for sustainable and future-ready mobility solutions.

  • 2025 UITP Summit to be held in Hamburg (Messehallen) from 15-18 June with MOIA as local host and exhibitor

  • Live autonomous driving experiences, vehicle insights, and tech demonstrations to be on-site

  • MOIA presents impact analysis: Nationwide Autonomous ridepooling can boost public transport use by 40 per cent

  • World premiere of the ID. Buzz AD – Volkswagen’s first fully autonomous production vehicle – before an international audience

Hamburg, 11 June 2025 – MOIA, in collaboration with key partners, will serve as the local host of this year’s UITP Summit – the leading global congress for sustainable and future-ready mobility solutions. In addition to its role as host, the tech company will present its scalable, end-to-end solution for autonomous mobility to an international audience at its booth (Hall A1; Stand A1430). Since last year, MOIA has been testing autonomous ridepooling under real-world conditions on the streets of Hamburg. On June 17, the production model of the ID. Buzz AD will be unveiled to international guests during an exclusive evening event.

“We’re making one thing clear at the UITP Summit: Autonomous driving is no longer a vision – it’s a reality on the streets of Hamburg. Visitors can experience our solution for autonomous public transport up close at our booth, during test drives, at our autonomous depot, and through talks and panel discussions. We’re excited to present our system for shared autonomous mobility to global experts – and to make it transferable to cities worldwide,” says Sascha Meyer, CEO of MOIA.

Simulation for Germany: 12 million autonomous rides daily

During the UITP Summit, MOIA will unveil a comprehensive simulation study highlighting the transformative potential of autonomous ridepooling across Germany. Based on mobile network data, the analysis estimates that a fleet of 300,000 autonomous vehicles could deliver up to 12 million rides per day, with average wait times of just ten minutes. The modelled outcomes include a 40-per-cent increase in public transport usage and annual CO2 savings of up to five million tonnes.

“Our data-driven model demonstrates how autonomous fleets can sustainably improve mobility across Germany without requiring new infrastructure,” says Dr. Felix Zwick, Team Lead Mobility Consulting at MOIA. The Mobility Consulting team will also show how the simulation methodology can be adapted for global metropolitan areas, supporting cities in planning the integration of autonomous services into existing public transport systems.

Diverse expert programme and mobility festival at Jungfernstieg

MOIA’s presence at the UITP Summit includes a broad expert programme. At the Forum New Mobility on 17 June at 11:30 a.m., CEO Sascha Meyer will discuss the future of seamless mobility and the role of multimodal strategies in transforming public transport with Arnd Baetzner from the University of St. Gallen. Additionally, MOIA will host dedicated sessions at its Speaker Corner from 16 to 18 June, covering topics including testing and simulation, fleet operations, brand development, and regulatory frameworks for autonomous ridepooling.

Ahead of the Summit, MOIA will also take part in the Mobility Festival at Jungfernstieg on Saturday, 14 June. The event is open to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a prototype of the ID. Buzz AD, along with hands-on opportunities for Hamburg residents to learn more about the autonomous future of urban mobility.

The UITP Summit will take place from 15 to 18 June at Hamburg Mess + Congress, with more than 300 exhibitors, 340 speakers, and an expected 10,000 attendees. MOIA, along with HOCHBAHN and Hamburg Messe, is part of the host consortium, supported by the City of Hamburg, the German federal government, and more than 75 partners.
