Autonomy in Paris: strong partnerships for the mobility transition

For the first time, MOIA was represented at the international trade fair for sustainable mobility solutions, the Autonomy Mobility World Expo in Paris. The international trade fair for sustainable mobility solutions took place on 20 and 21 March in Paris. It is directed at companies, start-ups, political decision-makers, institutions and NGOs.

Autonomy in Paris: Premiere for MOIA

Two exciting days are behind us and we have some exciting takeaways from Autonomy Paris: We had interesting discussions, saw innovative approaches to mobility solutions from around the world at the exhibition with more than 250 exhibitors and were able to see at the various panels how much expertise and passion is put into working together on sustainable mobility solutions.

Sascha Meyer in his keynote speech: partnerships are essential

In his keynote speech "Autonomous Ridepooling for the European Mobility Transition", MOIA CEO Sascha Meyer explained how demand-responsive, autonomous and city-wide ridepooling can expand public transport services in cities and thus drive forward the mobility transition. It is important to focus on the need for customer-oriented, flexible and convenient mobility solutions and to use new technologies to promote the common good.

Sascha Meyer also emphasised that the sustainable transformation of urban mobility requires partnerships between the private sector and public transport companies, as MOIA is already implementing in Hamburg as part of the public transport system and will continue to do in the ALIKE-project* as part of autonomous ridepooling. The background to the ALIKE-project is the implementation of the so-called Hamburg-Takt, which aims to provide every Hamburg resident with a public transport service within five minutes by 2030.   

Autonomous ridepooling will play a central role in establishing a comprehensive, flexible and highly available overall public mobility service in conjunction with scheduled public transport. The aim is to put up to 10,000 autonomous shuttles on Hamburg's roads.

Scaling autonomous ridepooling services in Europe 

MOIA's vision: to create a pan-European ridepooling service for the common good. CEO Sascha Meyer emphasises that the community comes first. This is exactly what MOIA has already done in previous years with Hamburg as a lighthouse city: with a ridepooling service in the city, getting to know the needs of customers and learning about them. "Now we are taking the next steps to bring an autonomous ride-sharing service to European roads," said Sascha Meyer in his keynote speech. It is important to set a mindful pace in order to grow with the acceptance and trust of society.

Autonomy in Paris: MOIA's exhibition stand

MOIA is leading the way – and now offers various packages of products and services for cities, transport companies and municipal authorities to make ridepooling a reality in their own region. Interested parties were able to get an idea of our products and services at our MOIA stand and familiarise themselves with our mobility analytics tool MIA (Mobility Impact Analyzer).

For the Europe-wide scaling of ridepooling services, we offer cities and local transport companies a comprehensive package that can be customised to the specific needs and requirements of cities and transport companies and covers all components of on-demand ridepooling. From the ID. Buzz AD as an intelligent vehicle, a software platform for booking and fleet management, processes for local operators and support for sales and branding for the mobility app. The goal is to set up an efficient ridepooling service that complements public transport and adapts to the needs of people and the requirements of cities.

Trade fairs, such as the Autonomy Mobility World Expo in Paris, provide an important platform for companies and experts to exchange information on the latest developments and trends. The insights from the past few days have been very valuable for us on our way to establishing autonomous ridepooling throughout Europe.
