We were already very excited when it became clear that we could carry out ther annual Christmas aid campaign together with the Volunteer Centre Hannover (FWZ). Now it was finally time for us to deliver over 130 gifts and Christmas trees to families for whom having presents for christmas is not a given.
For two days we were in action with eight vehicles for the good cause and together with the volunteers of the FWZ we were allowed to give a nice Christmas to the children. The wishing tree had been in the FWZ for several weeks. There helpers could choose a wish of a child and fulfill it. By mid-December, we had collected the gifts that we were to bring to their destinations with our MOIAs on 17 and 19 December.
We at MOIA are happy about such a great year in Hannover and therefore wanted to do what we do what do best, which is trying to bring complementary mobility solutions to Hannover, for this good cause as well.
Beyond that we had considered our own gift, which we wanted to present to 30 kindergartens in Hanover. We have equipped the facilities with tricycles. There is room for three children on the tricycles, one of them rides. Sharing is fun! The little ones should also be able to experience this. Why drive alone when there is enough room for others as well? And already the first rides showed that no thought was wasted on riding alone and the little ones had a lot of fun with the tricycle for three.
In the ÜSTRA Customer Centre, 30 volunteers are committed to helping make Hanover a better place. More than 650 other citizens are placed in active aid projects every year. The volunteer centre also implements its own projects such as the wishing tree campaign. At present, the main focus of the Volunteer Centre's work is on language promotion in kindergartens, on the transition from school to work for young people and on the integration of refugees.
