During this challenging time, we should take extra care with each other, and act even more responsibly toward our neighbors. One thing we can all do is to stick together as a community and work against the spread of COVID-19.
Per direction from the city of Hamburg, from April 27th masks must be worn over the mouth and nose in many public areas. The obligation to wear a mask also applies to public transport within the city. MOIA is accordingly introducing a mask requirement in our vehicles in order to protect customers and staff, who are currently supporting the city during special night service hours (midnight to 6 a.m.).
From Monday onward, it will be necessary for you to wear a so-called "community mask" - a fabric mask that covers both mouth and nose - in our vehicles. This includes, for example, masks you sewed yourself, surgical masks, or masks you may have purchased at the hardware store. You will not need an FFP2 or FFP3 mask. Compliance with the new "community mask" rule will be checked by the driver before you board your MOIA.
For maximum safety on our vehicles, the driver and customer areas will continue to be separated by a physical barrier. We will of course keep you informed about further developments.
Thank you for your understanding and stay healthy!
